Whitesox
struggle in Senior AAA Provincial Championship
The Parkland Whitesox were the only NCABL
club to enter Baseball Alberta Provincial play last
week-end and the first to ever enter in the AAA
division. After strong performances in the elite
Kelowna, British Columbia tournament earlier this
summer, the Whitesox were confident that they could
compete at this level. Disappointment followed as the
Whitesox were unable to demonstrate the form they are
capable of . After dropping a 7-2 decision to the Red
Deer Stags on the first day of the tournament, the
Whitesox went on to lose a 10-1 decision to the Red Deer
Riggers before managing a 5-2 victory against the St.
Albert Tigers. The Whitesox closed the tournament by
dropping a 9-1 decision to the Fort Saskatchewan
Athletics who went on to defeat the Stags 4-1 in the
Provincial Final. |
