Westlock Red Lions Defeats St. Albert Cardinals On Back Of Clutch Display From Sharrun

Leyton Sharrun drove in five runs on three hits to lead Westlock Red Lions past St. Albert Cardinals 16-1 on
Thursday at Keller Field. Leyton Sharrun tripled in the first scoring two, doubled in the second scoring two,
and doubled in the sixth scoring one.

St. Albert Cardinals opened the scoring in the first after Daniel Simmonds singled, scoring one run.
Westlock Red Lions took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Leyton Sharrun tripled to center field,
and Teron Callihoo homered to left field, each scoring two runs.

A single by Sean Beaudoin, a double by Leyton Sharrun, and a double by Steve Cote helped Westlock Red
Lions extend their early lead in the second.

Westlock Red Lions added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jordan Brand doubled, and
Sean Beaudoin singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Ayden Cote earned the win for Westlock Red Lions. The hurler surrendered two hits and one run over five
innings, striking out seven and walking one. Zach Pollard took the loss for St. Albert Cardinals. The starter
went one and one-third innings, surrendering eight runs (six earned) on six hits, striking out one and walking
two. Jared Lamb tossed two innings of scoreless ball for Westlock Red Lions in relief. The pitcher allowed
one hit, striking out four and walking two.

Westlock Red Lions accumulated 20 hits in the game. Steve Cote, Sean Beaudoin, and Leyton Sharrun each
collected three hits for Westlock Red Lions. Kyle Lawrence, Teron Callihoo, Jared Lamb, and Carter Hagel
each collected multiple hits for Westlock Red Lions. Westlock Red Lions turned one double play in the game.
Westlock Red Lions were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Jared Lamb made the most plays
with eight.

Daniel Simmonds, Lyall McMillan, and Chase Noppers each collected one hit for St. Albert Cardinals. Daniel
Simmonds led St. Albert Cardinals with one run batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-2 on the day.
